Corporate Connect AB

About Corporate Connect AB:

CorporateConnect.AB Pty Ltd founded by David Liddiard, is committed to closing the gap in Indigenous disadvantage and works directly with business, government agencies, schools, not for profits and Indigenous communities to achieve improvements in education, employment and financial security and independence for this country’s original inhabitants.

We do this by engaging our corporate partners in career pathways, employment and economic development initiatives which we undertake on behalf of the Aboriginal community in remote, regional and urban locations.

Responding to the needs of corporate Australia we create authentic experiences that build understanding in how to engage successfully with Indigenous Australia for the long term and strategies for achieving successful employment outcomes, including recruitment and retention. Practical, innovative, sustainable and strategic solutions for Indigenous employment and economic advancement.

Our methodology is inclusive, tailored and strategic.

About David Liddiard:

David is a respected and well known passionate advocate of Indigenous Australians. He is particularly committed to working for improved educational outcomes and employment opportunities for Indigenous youth.David was awarded an OAM in February 2014 for his work with Indigenous youth in sports, eduction, and employment.

Following a successful sporting career as an NRL player, he established the National Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy (NASCA) which provides real opportunities for Indigenous youth in sport and education.

NASCA has had impressive success with thousands of Indigenous youth being involved and this success has broadened out into other areas, such as education, health and employment. One of NASCA’s programs, ARMTour ( Athletes as Role Models on Tour ) takes athletes out to remote communities and interacts with youth providing them with positive role models and positive information about the issues that confront them. The ARMtour network has increased sporting opportunities and city visits for hundreds of remote students to widen their horizons with regard to completing their schooling and committing to career planning.

In addition to his role as Founder and CEO of NASCA, David has spearheaded inititiatives which provide practical support to corporates and businesses with workplace participation strategies for Indigenous talent. He has been involved in state and national initiatives which focus on economic development and leadership capacity building and has presented on panels and at numerous forums at state and national events.

In 2009 David was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in the area of Minority Supplier Diversity. He has initiated many projects with many organisations to secure better opportunities for Indigenous Australians.

His recently launched business CorporateConnect.Ab actively pursues opportunities to link the corporate sector and Indigenous enterprise and employment opportunities. The emphasis of David’s activities is on young people, and he understands the value of using sport as a means to connect them. His belief is that ‘education is the key’ and he works with relentless pursuit for opportunities for youth to have effective transition from school to work.

To develop real and lasting employment opportunities for Aborginal youth, David has established a new company, created through an Alliance of experienced and respected industry partners. The new company ‘Birubi’ sets high employment targets for every contract it undertakes and develops an employment strategy which focuses on training and mentoring to support transition and retention.

David’s sporting career has been very successful and the many personal and professional contacts he made and retained through that time are continuing to support his vision for Aboriginal Australia in practical ways through their own organisations and networks.

About Supply Nation:

Supply Nation formerly known as AIMSC (the Australian Indigenous Minority Supplier Council) is Australia’s premier business-to-business membership body dedicated to growing diversity within the supply chain.

Supply Nation’s goal is to connect Australian corporate and government organisations with Indigenous business suppliers who are already achieving success or have the potential to develop into vibrant, vital businesses.

Our aim is to ensure that small to medium Indigenous businesses have the opportunity to be integrated into the supply chains of Australian companies and Government agencies.

What Does Supply Nation do?

At Supply Nation we offer many services that cover the following:

Supply Nation is a not-for-profit membership body for Australian companies and Government agencies who are seeking to buy goods and services from Indigenous businesses. It provides a direct business-to-business purchasing link between corporate Australia, Government agencies and Indigenous owned businesses.

Because we certify Indigenous business suppliers as majority Indigenous owned, managed and controlled, Australian companies and Government agencies that are members of Supply Nation are able to access a qualified database of Indigenous suppliers for procurement opportunities.

Supply Nation offers education and training to it’s members covering topics such as how to embed a successful supplier diversity program into your organisation as well as how to engage with Indigenous business.

Supply Nation hosts the largest supplier diversity tradeshow currently offered in Australia! Our members and suppliers can also attend many other networking events which may encourage business relationships to develop.
